Can any image become embroidered?

Artwork must be digitised before it can be embroidered. Computers assist with the stitch count and placement, but skilled hand-editing helps produce the perfect result. A realistic digital proof (see below right) is sent via email for approval. What you see is what you get.

Embroidery can be intricate (see starburst with flare effect for Virgin at left) and colourful. Clean design and clever use of limited colours works best. We can help with your design if needed.

Is there much of a difference between one embroidery job and another?

A poor embroidery job can result in messy reproduction, bulky finishing on the reverse side, puckered fabric, and other problems over the life of the garment. Beware the franchise offering embroidered garments at give-away prices - you only get what you pay for in garments and stitchwork. If quality matters, use only the most skilled embroiderers (like ours, with more than 20 years of specialist trade experience).

Will embroidery suit my job?

Embroidery is highly recommended for caps and pique knit polo shirts. Embroidery is relatively heavy, so for lighter fabrics and larger areas screen printing might be the better option. Embroidery is often combined with screen printing - such as a polo shirt with embroidery one side of the chest and screen printing on the back. Applique - a combination of fabric and embroidery - is another option that lends itself well to producing American college-style hoodies for schools, teams and universities.
